Heather Moffett - Art
I am first and foremost an equestrian trainer, specialising in Classical Dressage. Now 71 years old and still working as a trainer, but no longer travelling to teach internationally, I’ve returned to a second interest, watercolour painting. I had exhibitions here in Devon and in my former area of East Anglia, but my equestrian career took off internationally, and I didn’t pick up a brush again for nearly 30 years. Having more time now, I felt the urge to paint again and shared a few paintings on my Facebook wall, with the result that people wanted to buy them. Hence this website came about. I originally painted mostly florals, but a lifetime of working outdoors has taken its toll on my fingers so that arthritis has encouraged me to loosen up my style. I am enjoying the freedom that loose watercolour can give artists, although also a challenge, as once the paint is down, to move it around creates a muddy appearance, so it is a risky business, unlike acrylic or oil, when the paint can be adjusted and modified as needed!
All the paintings are mounted but not framed, as frames are a personal choice.
